A wearable ECG monitor that needed to do more: Bluetooth, and enough storage to hold a full recording. I was at Sparv Embedded, and the work was consultancy for Linkura, whose name is on the boards. The unit was redesigned around those two requirements, with new firmware to match.

A redesign is mostly a component-selection problem

Adding BLE and a large storage capacity to an existing wearable is not a feature you bolt on. It changes the power budget, the layout and the parts list. I did the complete PCB redesign and the component selection behind it, through to the final board design for the ECG unit.

Sparv ECG Unit PCB Design

Hand-assembled first, then handed over

A fully hand-assembled prototype run to prove the board, new firmware with BLE integration, and C drivers written for the in-house firmware team to build on. On a short engagement the deliverable that matters is the one the team can carry forward without me.
